My thoughts exactly altough you wonder if the city would like it since castrol isan't exactly located in edmonton. However spending whatever it takes to build that kind of permanent track to that level makes a better buisness case since you wouldn't have to spend all that $$$ each year in setups etc and you could have much more big events rather than one event a year. Throw in stuff like the alms,a superbike weekend,heck if you build that level of track you might be able to get some nascar series up here. In the long run a permanent track moakes more sense. However a new track would have to be built at castrol. The orginal track dug up is only 2.7km long in not in my opinion up to indy car level. Plus i don't think it makes snese anymore to use the dragstrip as part of the track anymore. The track would have to be independant of the strip.
